The Curriculum
We believe that the curriculum is a vital foundation for effective education. As a school, we will strive to ensure our curriculum:
-
Is Broad and Balanced
We believe that our curriculum is a strong one, which goes beyond exam preparation. It encompasses the spiritual, cultural, and moral development of our students.
As school leaders, we will focus on providing a broad, rich, and deep education that equips our children with a body of knowledge as a toolkit to help them thrive in life beyond primary school.
-
Allows for Flexibility and Adaptability
Although our curriculum is planned for our children, we as a school are not rigid. Our curriculum allows room for flexibility, monitoring, and evaluation by teachers and the leadership team.
As part of our school’s growth, we will be accommodating the unique skills of our teachers and children, taking into account a cohort’s interests, attitudes, and appreciations.
We have carefully considered the learning theories that we explored in our own teacher training and have looked at good practise in schools around us.
-
Encourages Collaborative Development
We are acutely aware that our curriculum will undergo continuous evaluation and improvement.
Additionally, we want to continually reflect the Sikh community’s values and align with national learning standards.
We have cross referenced our skills progression and learning objective with the National Curriculum, as well as acknowledge the expertise of organisations.
