Safeguarding the children is the absolute responsibility of everyone at Sikh Heritage Girls School and the Governing Body takes their Safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously.

The appointed Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Inderjit Kaur Dhillon (Chief Operating Officer) and the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Divinder Kaur Ghundale (Headmistress)

DSL and Deputy DSL are fully safeguarding-trained, as are governors, and staff. 

We insist that KCSIE Part 1 is read by all staff; Annex A by school leaders and those who work directly with children. Staff induction will be followed up with regular updates on Safeguarding. All staff is trained on how to report child-on-child sexual violence and sexual harassment.

The DSL, Deputy DSL and Safeguarding Governor’s details can be found in the policy but are also readily available around the school in the form of a poster with photo, name, role, telephone number and email address. The Safeguarding leaflet also gives contact details and is available at reception.
